Villiger Entsorgungssysteme AG of Oberrüti wins the First SVC Aargau Solothurn Award 2026

With great excitement, high anticipation, and a strong team, we traveled to the Emil Frey Classics Center in Safenwil on the afternoon of April 30, 2026, for the Prix SVC Aargau Solothurn awards ceremony. Together with many guests from the worlds of business, politics, academia, and culture, we eagerly awaited the decision of the independent expert jury—and were treated to a very special moment:

At the awards ceremony, our company was honored as the first winner of the Prix SVC Aargau Solothurn.

This is a very special honor for us, as the Prix SVC is one of the most prestigious SME awards in Switzerland.

Prevailed in a competitive selection process involving approximately 100 companies

Following a multi-stage selection process, we were among the five finalists for the Prix SVC Aargau Solothurn even before the event.

Together with bonacasa AG, Constri AG, Fehlmann AG, and Pallas Kliniken AG, we qualified for the finals among approximately 100 companies from the cantons of Aargau and Solothurn. At the end of a wonderful evening, we were ultimately named the winner of the first Prix SVC Aargau Solothurn.

The fact that we were able to prevail in this high-stakes final fills us with great pride and confirms that we are on the right track with our modern solutions for waste management, recycling, and logistics.

Paul Villiger, Founder, Owner, and CEO of Villiger Entsorgungssysteme AG

Recognized for 25 years of innovation in waste management, recycling, and logistics

Villiger was not recognized for a single product, but for over 25 years of innovation in the development of modern waste management, recycling, and logistics solutions. Every day, Villiger’s systems help make cities, municipalities, and businesses in many countries cleaner, more efficient, and more sustainable.

The jury particularly praised the combination of technological expertise, sustainable thinking, and practical solutions. As Rea Erne, the chair of the expert jury and an entrepreneur, aptly put it in her laudatory speech: “Our society is consuming more and more, and with that comes a growing need to reliably organize complex waste management and logistics systems behind the scenes.” And that is exactly what Villiger has been doing with passion and success for over 25 years.

The fact that “you can win awards with waste,” as the press aptly put it after the awards ceremony, further demonstrates that modern waste management has long been about more than just waste disposal.

About the Swiss Venture Club (SVC)

The Swiss Venture Club (SVC) is an independent, non-profit association dedicated to supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Switzerland. Since 2001, the SVC has awarded the Prix SVC to companies that demonstrate innovation, sustainable success, a strong corporate culture, and social responsibility. This year, for the first time, the Prix SVC Aargau Solothurn also recognized outstanding companies in this region.

About Villiger: From a Family Business to a Hidden Champion

What began in 1991 with a pioneering spirit on a farm near Sins has evolved over the past decades into an internationally sought-after provider of modern waste management, recycling, and logistics solutions. With Swiss precision and a clear focus on sustainable innovation, Villiger is actively shaping the future of waste management.

For Rea Erne, Chair of the SVC Expert Jury, Villiger is therefore “a textbook example of a hidden champion that quietly and as unobtrusively as possible makes our communities more beautiful.”
