The starting point
The city of Herne wanted to reduce waste disposal traffic in densely built-up residential areas and at the same time cut CO₂ emissions. As conventional vehicles were too noisy for densely populated neighbourhoods, a compact, powerful and quiet solution was sought.
The solution
Villiger supplied an ILA electric truck with intelligent energy management and high payload. The vehicle empties underground and above-ground systems quietly and efficiently. The charging strategy was tailored to the existing routes. Since commissioning, noise and emissions have decreased noticeably, and operation is stable and low-maintenance.
